Vacation destinations can be many places, but the beach is always a favorite of most. The beach may not be their original location, but they usually wind up there for part of the vacation. Remember the importance of sunglasses, sunscreen or bug repellent. Many vacationers underestimate the danger of sunbathing without sunscreen. Make sure you have plenty of beach towels and cold water. It’s very easy to get dehydrated in hot weather. Although you can purchase many of these items, a self-catering vacation will save you a lot of money.

If you are planning on going on a cruise, you will need to prepare for the trip. Don’t wait until the last minute to begin packing. A travel agent can be very helpful with suggestions on what you should bring and what should be left behind. If you are leaving the country, you will need a passport. Although they are easy to obtain, you will need approval and they do take time. It’s a good idea to apply for a passport as soon as your reservations are made.

Camping is another popular choice of a vacation. Although it may sound simple, there are many things you need to remember to bring. If you have an RV, make sure you bring enough of what you need. Tents, towels, bug repellent and warm clothing are some of the essential camping items.
