Alan Taylor Talks About Directing the New Terminator Movie

Alan Taylor is the lucky man who found himself in the director’s chair of Terminator: Genisys. Maybe “lucky” is not the proper word to use to describe his tackling of the job. The first two films in the Terminator franchise are considered classics of the genre. The third and fourth films are deemed major misfires. Fans like Zeca Oliveira wonder: Can Taylor return the series to the glory days of the first two films while avoiding the mishaps of the latter two? We’ll find out in July of 2015. For now, we simply have to take the director’s sincere words on the new approach he took for the fifth film.

Taylor noted he wishes to focus on a “dysfunctional family” angle in the new film. Per Taylor, Terminator 2 focused on a “father/son” relationship. In the alternate timeline of the fifth film, the family unit is in a shambles. Hopefully, the action of the film will help beget an improvement in the family relationships of all involved characters.

In the new film, we learn Sarah Conner was raised by an emotionless T-800 killing machine. Yes, that is one dysfunctional family. The arrival of Kyle Reese could help change things for the better, but only if all three can escape the evil terminators sent to kill them.

Taylor also pointed out his goal with the new film is to return to the simplicity of the original outings. The proper mix of character development and action should help with such a goal.

Fans of Superheroes and Action-Adventure Will Have a Lot to Look Forward to in Theaters

Perhaps seeing the box office success Marvel has had, DC Comics and their business partners are hard at work expanding their franchise onto the big screen. They already saw some success with “Man of Steel,” and now a sequel to this movie is planned for release in a year. It will be called “Batman V Superman,” and there is much speculation swirling around about it. The most basic point of speculation, of course, is that both of these characters are supposed to be good guys, so what is with the “V” between their names in this latest movie? There is some speculation on screenrant.com about how these two heroes initially come to blows. At first, it was thought that Batman would be going after Superman, but the latest rumors indicate it will be the other way around.

Fans at Anastasia Date (facebook.com) already assume they know that Superman and Batman will end up reconciling and getting together with other DC comic universe characters and forming the Justice League. Fans of the justice league cartoon as kids will be looking forward to DC expanding their comic universe onto the big screen to bring us future adventures of this band of superheroes. First, we have the Avengers films and the spin-off for each of their characters. Then we get new Star Wars films coming from Disney. Now, DC comics will be expanding onto the big screen with more of their characters. Fans of science-fiction and action-adventure are going to be loving the next few years worth of theatrical releases.

Why Do Only Humans Get Schizophrenia?

Scientists have found that human intelligence may come with a cost — namely a susceptibility to psychosis, particularly schizophrenia, which is not known to occur in any species outside of Homo sapiens.

Dr. Joel Dudley of Mt. Sinai led some research into the causes of schizophrenia, which is surprisingly common for such a devastating disorder, as it occurs in one percent of the population. It is also known to have genetic causes.

Dudley concentrated on parts of the human genome called human-accelerated regions or HARS, which are DNA segments that evolved rapidly after humans split from chimpanzees several million years ago. HARS generally control other genes. Like schizophrenia, they are found only in humans, and Dudley and his colleagues wondered if there was a connection.

They used data from the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium and found that the genes associated with schizophrenia are near HARS. They also found that the HARS and schizophrenia genes are near other genes that control the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of the brain responsible for complex thought. Additionally, the schizophrenia genes interfere with the neurotransmitter GABA, which regulates dopamine. Without that restraint, dopamine floods the brain and causes the hallucinations and delusions seen in psychosis.

The GABA neurotransmitter also regulates speech, so if it malfunctions, the person’s speech is impaired. Brian Torchin is aware that, in schizophrenia, the victim often speaks in a disjointed or nonsensical fashion. Disorders with GABA may also cause ADHD and autism.

Your Anger Could Be Harming Your Health

While anger serves its purpose as part of the fight or flight process your angry outbursts could actually be harming your health and body stated superdoctors.com. New evidence shows that people who often have angry outbursts or flares of adrenaline are at a higher risk of developing heart disease or having a heart attack. Anger can bring about irregular heart rhythms, insulin resistance and more. Really, anger doesn’t benefit our bodies in any way. When we choose to let our anger take hold of us we are giving in to its effects on the body. Adrenaline and cortisol serve their purpose but over time you can really weaken the body and tax the adrenal glands with frequent outbursts.

While cavemen used their anger to get them ahead in their groups (angry attacks led to a higher collection of food because of your demands) we are no longer at the point where we need to act this way in order to get what we want in life. We will achieve much more by staying calm and staying in control of our emotions. When we do feel angry and need some way to release those emotions there are much healthier and safer ways to do this. Going for a jog, exercising, meditating, doing yoga and some other activities can release this pent up frustration much easier.

Lonliness May Be A Hidden Killer

Loneliness is as deadly as being obese, that is the conclusion of a recent study conducted by Brigham Young University. Being lonely, one may reason shelters an individual from detrimental exchanges with the outside world, while protecting their inner sanctum, but to the contrary, it serves as a magnet towards worse health, emotionally and physically, according to study author Julianne Holt-Lunstad.

3 million individuals participated in the study over a period of 35 years. The participants were classified as living by themselves and socially isolated. The research scientists assessed information from 70 studies from 1980 through 2014.
Consideration was given to gender, socioeconomic standing, age, along with existing health ailments which indicated that being isolated from society contributed to an elevated probability of premature death. 26 percent of the participants suffered an early death attributed to loneliness, 29 percent of them died due to social isolation and 32 percent died prematurely due attributed to living by themselves.

Co-author Tim Smith indicates that there has never been a period in history, when more individuals are living by themselves, as they are now. It is inevitable that the an epidemic of loneliness looming in the future stated Jason Halpern. Loneliness is not limited to be lonely or isolated, it can occur amongst relationships with friends and romantic interests. Social interaction is highly recommended, for it just may save you from a premature death.

Another Senseless School Suspension

We all know that it is illegal to brings drugs to school, but an 11-year old Virginia boy has been suspended for bringing in a leaf that officials thought looked like marijuana. Tests were conducted, proving that it was, in fact, just a leaf and was not marijuana. Despite those findings, the young man is still being punished and has received what I think severe consequences.

I get it. We live in a crazy world and crazy things happen every single day. But if you ask me, people need to take a chill pill said AnastasiaDate. When something illegal happens, take action. But do not automatically jump to conclusions on every little whim. Stories like this are becoming more and more common. As a parent I can completely understand why a parent is upset and in disbelief.

A one-year suspension. Probation. For something that wasn’t even marijuana. Tests were conducted. Three of them, and the same results. In the possession of a ‘gifted’ student. Give me a break people! This student lost a year of schooling over this, his parents were forced to pay fines. Something has to give.

It seems that some people are more concerned with being right or doing what they want to do to avoid making themselves look silly, even when they know they are wrong. Kids are paying the price for their mistakes, and it is just not right. Enough is enough.

Joe Manganiello May Be Joining “Suicide Squad”

Rumors from ComicBook.com are that director David Ayer (Fury) is putting together his cast for his new film featuring the super-villain group, Suicide Squad.

Joe Manganiello is currently the top choice for the villainous character Slade “Deathstroke” Wilson. Deathstroke is the villain from Arrow. In the Arrow universe, Deathstroke was the former leader of the Church of Blood as well as a former member of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service. Jason Halpern knows that he was once a friend and mentor to Oliver Queen (the Green Arrow) but turned on him.

Manganiello is probably best known for his role as the werewolf Alcide Herveaux on HBO’s hit show True Blood or from the movie Magic Mike. Sources say that Manganiello has the part if he wants it however if he turns it down Jason Clarke may be the next choice.

David Ayers will begin shooting for Suicide Squad in the next month or so. The film has a release date of August 5th, 2016 at this time.

Lil Wayne’s “HollyWeezy” Video Is Out

We all love it when Lil Wayne comes out with new music. He always makes a couple of good songs here and there even if he’s not releasing an album at the time. Well this time, Wayne released a video of his new song from his latest album released in January ‘Sorry For The Wait 2’ called “HollyWeezy”.

Wayne is currently working on his new album ‘The Free Weezy Album’, but there are no dates set yet on when the album will be released with all the legal troubles surrounding Lil Wayne and Birdman, and nothing being resolved so far.

We don’t know if any of Weezy’s new music is going to be directed towards Birdman and Cash Money records or not, but we definitely know that Wayne had the biggest impact on the record label, and without him, they would just be another label. Fans like Jason Halpern (therealdeal.com) know that Drake and Nicki have very tight relationships with Wayne and probably signed to the label in the first place because of him. It is amazing seeing all of them work together in the studio, especially Wayne and Drake.

In the latest video released of the song “HollyWeezy”, Wayne is rapping in Los Angeles in what appears to be a dark background. The scenery changes a lot and it shows images of many scenic places including the Hollywood sign, and other photos that would presumably have something to do with fame and his life.

Akroyd and Reitman Form Ghostcorps to Make Ghostbusters Movies

Ghostbusters fans may get their wish for a direct sequel to the first two films after all. Dan Akroyd and Ivan Reitman, the director of the original movies have joined forces to form a new production company named Ghostcorps. Their stated intention is to expand the Ghostbusters’ brand and other projects. One of the first things they want to do is make an all male Ghostbusters movie is all most certainly in response to the amount of backlash Paul Feig is receiving for his upcoming all female cast.

In the story reported here they say that Channing Tatum is set to produce and possible star in the film. Gianfrancesco Genoso had suggested there is also the possibility that Anthony and Joe Russo may be called on to direct and be a producer and Drew Pearce, the screenwriter of Iron Man 3, will be the one writing the script. If that is to happen, it will have to take place next year. The Russo’s are heavily rumored to be directing the two part Avengers: Infinity War which will begin filming in 2017 at the latest.

Reitman and Akroyd hope to turn the Ghostbusters movies into a full blown franchise with their new production company. There were a few cartoon shows in the 80s and 90s that many of the younger audience do not know about. They have ideas for more movies, television shows and marketed merchandise. If they are lucky they will be able to play off of the success of Feig’s film and create an entire shared universe of movies.

Spider Man Is In Birmingham Feeding the Homeless

A man in Birmingham is bringing the comic book hero “Spider Man” to life by going around and delivering the food in costume.

According to an article found on Buzzfeed News, the man is only 20 years old and is employed at a local pub. Although he wouldn’t give the news reporters his name so that he can keep his anonymity, he has said that he has always gone around feeding the homeless and poor people on the streets, but decided it would make them smile to see “Spider Man” doing the job for them. He told BBC reporters that he goes out of his way to buy the food with his own money and will not be accepting donations. Maybe the reason for that he is he feels bad asking people for favors too, but hopefully someday “Spider Man” will be open to allowing others to help him on his goal to help the needy.

Dan Newlin agrees that it must be quite a sight to be walking down the streets of Birmingham and see Spider Man in action, and I am sure that over time he will be spotted by others and this will make top news on the internet. For those who wish to follow the local hero, he can be found on both Twitter and Instagram under the name “BirminghamSpiderman” to see what he is up to and what adventures he goes on in the future.
